This soulprint, on a very basic level, is based on the tiny life hidden in a single drop of fresh water as seen under a microscope -- the building blocks of life. Zoom out, and it depicts the life living on and sustained by the Earth. Pull back further, and it's a view of the universe, the great cosmos and everything in it from afar. This piece could easily have been called microcosm, but in the end it all comes down to perspective -- a pond is an entire universe to a rotifer. The world has many layers, many systems. Everything's connected.

The term Soulprint comes from how I create these images. I shut out the world around me and turn my focus inward, pouring my heart and soul out onto the paper. When I'm finished, I step back and the image on paper looks something like a fingerprint, with the black lines in high contrast to the bright white paper. Because of this, I call these my Soulprints.
